Virtual Morocco is based on the Casablanca sim, and was created by the Global Outreach Morocco team, a group of students of the Johnson and Wales University in 2006.

The students partnered with the Ministry of Tourism of Morocco to create an immersive experience that educates visitors about Moroccan culture while enticing them to think about Morocco as a travel destination. It contains monuments and experiences from Casablanca, Rabat, and Marrakesh, and includes space for projecting real-world events into the virtual environment.
