|desc=With customizable avatars called “Zelf”, freedom of choice and expression, and a surplus of places to go and things to do, Zookazoo is an immersive place where children can really have safe fun. ZooKazoo is an online environment of imaginary and adventurous destinations where children 6 through 12 can safely hang out, have fun, and even make their world a better place .[1] It was created by five parents with extensive backgrounds in educational, technology, and media. The environment offers children an in depth opportunity to develop healthy personal and social skills they may implement in the real world. Children can be as creative as they want and share art, music, videos, form clubs, or build their own tree house. Friendships can be made with children from around the globe through the through real time chatting or sending a Zmail. Additionally, children get to learn about endangered species and plants, enjoy reading and writing, gain small motor and coordination skills, learn cooperative and collaborative skills, and practice personal responsibility and fair play.[2] But it’s not just for children, parents can get involved too. }}

Safety First
Unlike other virtual worlds, parents are able to monitor their children’s activities through their own personal account. From friends, places visited, or how much time spent online, parents will know everything their children are doing online. Consistent parental guidance from the community and KD Learning makes this site inaccessible to predators. Zookazoo safety features include 24/7 monitoring, smart text filtering, and easy to use, no bullying features.[3] Most importantly, the online community as well as Zookazoo promote children taking their own stance in policing their own world.
The Worlds
Zookazoo currently offers two different diverse environments, Jungaloo and Hiphopolis. Jungaloo is a lush rain forest environment brimming with jungle-river rides, joking tikis, customizable huts, and games populated by exotic animals. Children can hang out with friends in The Funky Tiki Lounge, feed a panda, dance with monkeys or decorate their tree-house. Hiphopolis is an urban environment where children experience bright lights and hip hop beats in an urban landscape. They can dance in the Club Stylus, show off their funny bone on the stand-up stage, get creative with neon and graffiti, or chill in their personalized penthouse high in the sky.[ http://www.zookazoo.com/pdf/zookazoo_launch.pdf]
Encouraging Children to Make a Difference
Beyond fun, socializing, and games, Zookazoo is also an educational advocate site as well. To encourage children to make a difference in the real world, Zookazoo features challenges such as “The Earth Day Challenge”. These challenges encourage children to advocate for their favorite causes and spread awareness to their friends, families, classmates, teachers, etc. As a reward for their participation, whoever wins the challenge will be given fun prizes that not only children will enjoy but their schools as well. This makes learning fun and engaging knowing that your hard work and dedication will pay off.[ http://www.zookazoo.com/pdf/zookazoo_launch.pdf]
