Neopets is a platform for users to create pets and play games. Users can customize everything about their pets, from clothing to home, buying items with currency earned playing games. Users can also battle with their pets or post on forums (there is no live chat). Most of the screens in-world deal with in-world commerce (trading items) and the games. There is a limited social aspect to the platform, outside messaging, forums, profiles and the ability to battle other users. Neopets is not an environment as much as many other virtual worlds platform, in the sense it is structured more like a web interface with many pages you flip between to update settings and perform actions.
